Goblin Gains is a small, free fitness app for friends and family. It collects only what it needs to send you workouts, track them, and share them with your Horde. It has no ads and never sells your data. It uses Google Analytics to count how the app and this website are used.
What we collect
- An account ID. When you open the app you get an anonymous account. No name or email is needed to start.
- Your Google account, if you choose to link it. Google shares your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to sign you back in to your goblin on a new phone.
- Your settings. The display name you pick, your time zone, the hours and moves Gutz may ambush you with, your spice level, and your goblin and gear.
- Your activity. Each drill: when it was sent, and whether you did it, snoozed it or missed it, and how many reps you logged. Also the stars, streaks and daily totals worked out from that.
- Push notification tokens. An address from your phone’s push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla) so we can send you notifications.
- Usage analytics. Google Analytics for Firebase records pages viewed and actions such as finishing or snoozing a drill, joining a Horde, heckling and buying gear, with the move, rep count or item involved. It also records device type, browser, rough location (city or region, from your IP address) and app speed (Firebase Performance Monitoring). It uses cookies and a random analytics ID, never your name, email, Horde name or invite code.
- Horde activity. The Hordes you are in, and events like finished drills, streaks, purchases, heckles and raid progress.
Who can see it
- Your Horde-mates see your display name, your goblin and gear, your stars, streak and form, and your activity in the Horde feed. They never see your email.
- Anyone with one of your invite links sees your display name and the Horde’s name and description in the link preview.
- Nobody else. There are no public profiles or leaderboards.
Service providers
Goblin Gains runs on Google Firebase (hosting, sign-in, database, server code, Google Analytics and Performance Monitoring). Google’s use of analytics data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Notifications are delivered by your phone’s push service: Apple, Google or Mozilla. These companies handle the data only to run those services. We share nothing with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, settings, activity and push tokens within 30 days, and remove you from your Hordes. Past Horde feed items that mention you are deleted too.
Your choices
- Change your name, schedule and goblin at any time in Settings.
- Turn off notifications in your phone’s settings.
- Block analytics by clearing cookies or using a browser or content blocker that blocks Google Analytics. The app works the same without it.
- Leave any Horde from the Horde tab.
- To delete your account or get a copy of your data, email hello@goblingains.app from the email on your linked Google account, or tell us your display name and Horde.
Age
Goblin Gains is for people 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. For a big change, we will also tell you in the app.
